d-Switch has organized a piezo symposium on the 10th of October in Eindhoven, together with the Applied Piezo Foundation and the Mikrocentrum.
Various international speakers will present, among them the Nokia Research Centre, Philips and several Universities.

d-Switch is granted for a prestigious 5-year development program backed by the Dutch government, the goal of which is to focus on advancing technology (in our case, piezo) and promoting cooperation between universities and SME's. With the help of this sponsorship, new materials and applications for piezo can be explored, patented and brought into production.

d-Switch is highlighted on the website of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (Economische Zaken) for commissioning students at Helsinki Technical University to create the 'Table Of The Future'. This table allows restaurant-goers to order their own food and drink, from a touchscreen seamlessly embedded into the tabletop. The concept has already been patented, and is currently seeking a partner interested in licensing.
